Gentle, hands-on complementary therapy

Craniosacral Therapy

An opportunity for deep rest, stillness and relaxation.

The approach

Gentle and attentive

I also offer Craniosacral Therapy, a gentle, hands-on complementary therapy which can offer an opportunity for deep rest, stillness and relaxation.

I trained at the College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy in London and have been practising for around 15 years.

Craniosacral Therapy has its origins in osteopathy and the work of William Garner Sutherland. The practitioner uses very light touch and pays close attention to subtle movements and rhythms within the body.

My approach is gentle and attentive. I am particularly interested in creating the conditions in which the nervous system can settle and in helping people develop a greater awareness of what they are experiencing physically.

For me, a sense of safety, trust and comfort is central to the work.

A session

What to expect

We will begin with a short conversation about how you are and anything you would particularly like me to be aware of.

You will then lie fully clothed on a treatment table.

I work with a very light touch, usually placing my hands gently on different areas of the head and body. I will explain where I would like to place my hands and make sure that you are comfortable before doing so.

Once you have settled, the session is generally quiet, giving you time to rest and notice what you experience.

Some people come to Craniosacral Therapy because they are feeling stressed or physically tense; others simply value having a quiet space in which to slow down and reconnect with their bodies.

Craniosacral Therapy is a complementary therapy and does not replace medical assessment or treatment. If you have concerns about your health, please consult your GP or other appropriate healthcare professional.
